Project: Arundel Museum
Architect: GWP Architects
vkhp-consulting was engaged with Graham Whitehouse Architects, in the design of a new permanent building for a local museum in the town of Arundel, West Sussex.
Having been originally located on the High Street and after a brief spell in a portacabin, the Arundel Museum Society (AMS) obtained the current prime site opposite the Lower Castle Gate entrance, jointly donated by the Angmering Park Estate Trust, the Arundel Castle Trust and the Norfolk Estate. The AMS operates as a charity and obtained funds and grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Arun District Council and other benefactors.
Construction commenced in June 2012, and this award winning Museum was officially opened by His Grace the Duke of Norfolk on 24 June 2013.
