Civil Engineering
Our Civil Engineering team provide support to our Structural Engineering team on a number of the projects we carry out, providing expert advice on below ground drainage and external works, including paving finishes and retaining walls.
We regularly provide advice on flood risks including the production of Flood Risk Assessments and also on the implementation of SUDS recommendations for sustainable drainage.
Where a property has been designated a minimum Code for Sustainable Homes or BREEAM standard, we can produce calculations and statements supporting the application to ensure the maximum number of points can be obtained in the SUR1 and POL 3 categories.
We prepare details, designs and specifications for foul drainage, water attenuation and distribution for all size of projects from the smallest residential scheme, through to large housing estates, commercial or industrial developments, and we have a great deal of experience negotiating with all the local Statutory Authorities.
Where your property includes a public sewer, which can include a drain serving your neighbour, changes to legislation have meant that Build-Over Agreements need to be negotiated with the local Water Authority before works can commence. This is not always picked up until construction commences, so if you are aware of a sewer on your site, our early involvement allows the most efficient course of action to be decided and delays to be minimised.
Our services are tailored to suit each of the following key stages of a project:
-
At project feasibility stage
-
Up to planning application stage
-
During detailed design
More information on the services we can offer during each of these stages can be found in our Civil Engineering Brochure
