Experienced Structural Engineers

We are offering an exciting opportunity for experienced Structural Engineers to join our friendly and professional team, taking a lead role on the structural design on a range of projects. Workload varies from small domestic alterations to large commercial new build and refurbishments. The role would also include undertaking structural inspections/surveys and provision of written reports and remedial recommendations.

The role would include:

  • Supporting the directors.

  • Taking the lead role on the technical engineering design of projects.

  • Working on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Assistance in the day-to-day management of engineers and technicians.

  • Liaising with clients, architects, and external design team members to ensure efficient and integrated structural solutions.

  • Carrying out structural surveys, feasibility studies and site inspections.

  • Attending DTMs and progress meetings as project engineer.

  • Ensuring Health & Safety is considered at all stages of the design process to ensure designs produced minimise risk during construction.

 

The ideal candidate must have:

  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in the preparation of structural design of refurbishment, structural modification, and new build projects, covering all four principal materials.

  • A commercial awareness and ability to deliver high quality, detailed and creative designs, and think outside the box.

  • The ability to check design calculations, drawings, and specifications.

  • Be able to undertake structural inspections and have the ability to present reports, ideas and designs confidently and fluently, and to a high standard both internally and externally.

  • Ability to show experience of working with British Standards and Eurocodes.

  • Have good planning, organisation, and time management skills in order to balance tasks and prioritise to meet project deadlines.

  • Extensive knowledge and familiarity with the following design software package, MasterSeries and TEDDS but not necessary as training given.

  • A good knowledge of AutoCAD would be an advantage.

  • Knowledge of sustainability and economic requirements for practical design solutions.
