Project: Tye Oak Farm
Architect: Manorwood
vkhp-consulting were appointed as Structural Engineers in respect of a large redevelopment of derelict farm buildings, which included the conversion of a large brick and stone barn, existing derelict stables, together with new link buildings between all three and new outbuilding conversions.
The project proved quite challenging as there were numerous changes in levels and one of the stable blocks had significant distortions to external flint walls which were to remain, and these also required new glazed frontages. New link buildings were also quite complicated, particularly in respect of changing levels, and the link building between the main barn and stable block was complicated by the fact that an existing flint wall had to remain as this section was Listed and had to be incorporated into the new link building which required careful consideration of foundations to avoid undermining the flint Listed wall.
vkhp-consulting worked closely with the client’s Project Manager and the Architects, Manorwood in order to achieve the desired results.
